Guided tours<\/h1>\n

Tours of the museum are offered every Sunday at 11 AM. All are welcome to join. Tickets cost \u20ac4 per adult, \u20ac3 for children of 7 years and older. Children under the age of 7 can join for free. Important: these tours are currently only available in Dutch.<\/p>\n

Book a private guided tour<\/strong>
\nIf you would like to arrange a private tour for family, colleagues or another group outside the regular scheduled times, please use the booking request form on this page. Tours are led by our trained and experienced guides and last around one hour. You can currently choose from three different tours:<\/p>\n

1. Ship & contents <\/strong>–\u00a0\u20ac60 per group, a group consists of max. 20 people<\/p>\n

With this tour, the group gets an extensive tour of the ship De Meern 1 and its special finds. In addition, the story of the Castellum is explained. This tour is suitable as a first introduction to Castellum Hoge Woerd.<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Watchtower & bathouse <\/strong>– \u20ac60 per group, a group consists of max. 15 people<\/p>\n

With this tour, the group visits the replica of the Roman watchtower. Here, the story of the defensive line of the Roman Empire is told: the Roman Limes, globally recognized as World Heritage. You will also explore the rest of the outdoor area, including the (outlines of) the ancient Roman bathhouse.<\/em><\/p>\n

3. 3D\/VR tour –<\/strong> \u20ac60 per group, a group consists of max. 10 people<\/p>\n

With this tour, the group travels back in time using Virtual Reality glasses. Immerse yourself completely in Roman times as you stand on the ramparts of the fortress or the Roman ship or move between the soldier barracks in the courtyard. You can choose between three themes: castellum; ship & dock; bathhouse.<\/em><\/p>\n

Group visits must be booked at least two weeks in advance and are processed within four business days.\u00a0Please note that your booking has not been finalised until you receive a confirmation e-mail.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guided tours are reserved by name. If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, you can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours prior to the tour. If you cancel within 72 hours, unfortunately we can no longer refund the purchase amount. By requesting a tour you agree to this.<\/p>\n
