The archaeology museum of Utrecht is based in the Roman fort called Castellum Hoge Woerd. Here you can admire the 2000 year old Roman ship with its complete furnishing, you can climb the walls of the towering fort and you can travel through the history of humankind and the landscape.

From 6 to 30 August, the ramp in the main hall will be painted. To protect the 2000-year-old Roman ship, it will be temporarily covered. The display cases containing the ship’s finds will also not be visible during this period. The rest of the museum, including the exhibition 3000 Years of Living and Working and the Wood Chamber, will remain open as usual.
