By bicycle
Castellum Hoge Woerd is easy to reach by bike. It is located in the centre of Utrecht’s Leidsche Rijn suburb along a number of primary cycling routes, and also along Het Lint, a cycling and pedestrian loop offering convenient and fast access from Vleuten. There are plenty of bike stalls available, and even tyre repair kits, should you run into trouble. A charging point for e-bikes is currently in the making.
From Utrecht centre/north-east/north-west:
Cycling from the centre or north of the city, take Vleutenseweg towards Leidsche Rijn, crossing the yellow bridge. Continue past the CineMec (Pathé cinema) into Leidsche Rijn and then parallel to the Parkwijk bus lane (approx. 1.5 km). The bicycle lane curves to the left and intersects Groenedijk at a set of traffic lights. Turn right onto Groenedijk and then continue until you reach Castellum Hoge Woerd. There are bicycle stalls to the right in the forecourt.
From Utrecht south:
Cycling from the south of the city, take Dominee Martin Luther Kinglaan and cross the Meernbrug (bridge) across Amsterdam Rijnkanaal. The bicycle lane continues over the A2 motorway underpass. On reaching the Hoge Weide district, turn left, then cross Stadsbaan at the traffic lights. Continue another 400 metres along the bicycle lane and then turn right onto Groenedijk. Keep on this lane until you reach Castellum Hoge Woerd. There are bicycle stalls to the right in the forecourt.
By car
If you are driving to Castellum Hoge Woerd, follow the brown road signs to ‘Castellum’. Because our address (Hoge Woerdplein 1, De Meern) is still rather new, it is not yet recognised by all satnav systems. Instead, you can enter: Groenedijk 1, De Meern.
The Castellum is situated in a residential neighbourhood, so please drive with care. You may park in the designated spaces. Please be mindful of cyclists and pedestrians. The car park has three spaces reserved for coaches.

By public transport
Castellum Hoge Woerd is easy to reach by public transport. Two bus services stop outside the grounds. Bus 4 stops at ‘De Woerd’ and bus 28 at ‘Tweede Westerparklaan’. Both services stop at Jaarbeursplein outside Utrecht’s main railway station (Utrecht Centraal). Bus 28 has another stop (‘Eerste Westerparklaan’) located 650 metres from the Castellum and also serves Vleuten railway station.
